In this week’s Washington Post, Josh Marshall and Peter Baker describe a new era in U.S. law enforcement, which is likely to make the criminal justice system more aggressive and less fair to people accused of violent crimes.

A lot of these changes were spurred by the Supreme Court’s decision in Citizens United v.

Federal Election Commission, which opened the floodgates to corporations and other entities to spend unlimited sums on political ads.

Now the government has to fight the next wave of attacks on democracy and individual freedoms.
